About Taggly

Taggly is an online social bookmarking community. You can store, share and search your favorite bookmarks. The beauty of the site is you can also see and search the bookmarks of other members, allowing you to find more interesting recipes and websites. You can also add another member to your watchlist to see what they are bookmarking.

Who can see my bookmarks?

You can choose to share your bookmarks with everyone, only friends on your watchlist or just keep them private. When you create a new bookmark your are able to decide who to share it with. You can also edit old bookmarks and change who sees them.

How do the tags work?

Tags your bookmarks with as many labels as you want, instead of wrestling with folders. Tags help you and others find relevant links. You can search through tags with the search bar or by simply clicking on any tag you see on the site.

Can I import del.icio.us bookmarks?

Yes, to import bookmarks from del.icio.us, log into your del.icio.us account and click on "Settings" and then on "Export". Save the file to your computer and sign into your Taggly account and click on "Add a Bookmark" and select "Import from del.icio.us". Select the file on your computer and upload it to Taggly.

Do you share your API?

Taggly supports most of the del.icio.us API. Almost all of the neat tools made for that system can be modified to work with Taggly instead. If you find a tool that won't let you change the API address, ask the creator to add this setting. You never know, they might just do it.

What are tags?

You can think of tags as keywords or labels. Tags help you find groups of links and notes which have something in common. You can assign as many tags as you wish to each link or a note. Tags may contain spaces, but must be separated by commas (e.g. photography, photo, portfolio, inspiration). Although you can use common English words such as to, the, in, at, my, and others for your tags this is strongly discouraged, as we may remove such words from tags in the future.

What are Watchlists?

Watchlists are your subscriptions to other users. By creating a Watchlist and adding one or more users to it, you can watch "over the shoulders" of other Taggly users, as they save links. To help you keep up with new links in your Watchlists, Taggly keeps track of new links that you have not yet seen and alerts you when a Watchlist has new links. Each Watchlist also has its feed, so you can subscribe to the feed using your favourite feed-subscription application instead of having to visit Taggly.
